Rio Samuels

Rio Samuels, ex student of the Academy and of Dolphin College Liverpool, recently qualified in ITDA and has just won the Master Dance UK.

He has also recently been signed up at a top London Agency!

In between professional performances and travelling to London he is delivering workshops specialising in Boys' Street Dance, Hip Hop and Stage Choreography as well as workshops with the latest styles!

 

The Dance Show

Students from Dawson's Academy have been invited to perform at "The Dance Show" as part of The Clothes Show Live at the NEC in Birmingham.

The Dance Show which is being launched as a new project at the NEC Birmingham from Friday to Sunday 3rd - 5th of December 2010. As well as performances from all over the country, dance schools and colleges are also are offering dance workshops with many famous teachers and choreographers.

Our students (approx 10 older advanced students aged from 14 - 16 years) will perform the dance number called "Heartbeat" on Sunday 5th December.

Starting Thursday 8th November 2010

You may want to appear as if you’ve gracefully floated around the dance floor with a waltz or foxtrot. Or you may prefer a vibrant dance like Cha Cha, Samba or Rumba. Maybe you favour the fast moves of the Jive and Rock ‘n’ Roll, or want to develop your sense of rhythm with the Salsa. Whatever your preference, whether on your own or with a partner, our new classes are a great form of exercise and a must for all those who want to learn something new and have fun doing it.

A Night for Jennifer

Students are performing in 'A Night For Jennifer' the official launch of this new charity. On the 19th November 2010 The Albert Halls in Bolton will be holding a star studded celebrity supported variety concert, hosted by Brooksy from the 107.4 Tower FM breakfast show, including dance, comedy, music and even some circus entertainment from some of the best in the business.

Festival 4 Stars Winners

Congratulations to Solo Dance 12-20 years winner Monique Jacobs, and Duo winners Charles Butcher and Jenna Johnson (pictured here with guest judge Alice Barlow from Hollyoaks) who won the Festival 4 Stars Manchester heat final on 28 March.

Arts Award Assessor

Miss Dawn Dawson has now completed assessor training for the Bronze & Silver Arts Award.

The mission of Arts Award is to support young people who want to deepen their engagement with the arts, build creative and leadership skills, and to achieve a national qualification.

Through Arts Award at Bronze, Silver and Gold levels, young people aged 11-25  can explore any of the art forms including performing arts, visual arts, literature, media and multimedia.

The award builds confidence, helps young people to enjoy cultural activities, and prepares them for further education or employment.

As an assessor Miss Dawn can now take young people through the Bronze and Silver awards allowing them to develop and receive recognition for their achievements.
