The baby classes are an introduction to basic movement and rhythm and are carefully structured to be fun yet secure.
Classes are offered in ballet, tap and stage work and are held on Saturday mornings.
Ballet is a great way of gaining strength, posture, grace, muscle tone, technique and musical awareness.
Tap Dancing is a rhythmical stimulating style of dance, which is a fun way of developing co-ordination, technical skill and tonal awareness.
Stage Work is a fun way for a child to experience team work and special awareness while also stimulating the child's creativity and imagination. Each child is also given the opportunity to perform in the Academy's annual production in a variety of musical styles.
Two sets of classes are available - Level One and Level Two, which are both held on Saturday mornings. The Academy takes into account the child's age, experiences and personality before recommending which timetable would be most suitable. Each child is carefully monitored on their progress so they are able to move to the next level of training at their own pace.
Additional Baby Classes
Due to increased demand we have now introduced an additional baby class on Saturday morning to accommodate newcomers.
Do I need to stay for each class?
We encourage parents not to stay once they are happy their child is settled as children generally progress and achieve more without parental distraction. This also helps a child gain independence and confidence at a young age.

What do classes cost?
Classes start from just £3.50 and the first introductory class is FREE, so there's no obligation to come and try out to see what suits you.

If you wish your child to become a member of Dawn Dawson's Academy of Dance & Stage, then we would be delighted to welcome them to our team. Please complete the contact form. We will then contact you to discuss the classes suitable for your child.
So we can make sure you / your child is enrolled in classes that suit individual needs and ability, it is important that you tell us of any previous dance experience including any examinations taken so we can structure a timetable that is appropriate.
